september 2026 — In 2021 schreef ik voor het Ragazze Quartet. een trilogie van liederen voor They have waited long enough. Op vraag van Tamar Bruggeman en in opdracht van Wonderfeel, Antwerp Liedfest & Lunalia schreef ik libretti over Medea, Penelope en Circe voor componisten Annelies Van Parys, Calliope Tsoupaki & Aftab Darvishi, die werden uitgevoerd door sopraan Charlotte Waijnberg en ingeleid door auteur Natalie Haynes. Het project liep nadien door, en nu is er dus een cd!
They Have Waited Long Enough will be officially released during the Festival September Me on 25 September 2026 at Flint Theatre in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.
This album would also not have been possible without Tamar Brüggeman, whose initiative sparked the series of song cycles on oppressed women. We are equally grateful to the nine composers who set to music the stories of women from history and mythology, as retold by Nathalie Haynes, Ece Temelkuran, and Gaea Schoeters.
